The General's Protege 2

It is not easy for me.
I have had enemies,
inside and out of my army.
I wondered sometimes,
'If we were in battle,
would I be betrayed,
by my own people'.
I worked hard to get to where I am.
Yet some women use themselves,
to advance in this army.
I heard of a soldier,
who slept with a general.
I know not.
Yet when it came to battle,
she ran.
She abandoned her team,
like a coward.
She left them to be slaughtered by the enemy.
I took orders from the same general,
before her.
He was a good person,
who just missed his wife.
I did not mind being transferred.
It was a learning experience.
