“Free”

AlinaVanderson

“Free”

Find me

For I am so desperately lost

I was unaware that good dreams

Come at a higher cost

However darling did you know

That the nightmares are free?

They come at no cost to lonely curious travelers like me

They follow with their empty baskets

And fill them full of fear

They let you know exactly who they are

And exactly why they're here

But no my dear it does not end when someone's basket fills

Because what seems free almost always comes with hidden fees and bills

They'll bring back they're friends next time and so forth for the night

And that's where you'll recognize that something's just not right

Free my friend won’t always be safe so be sure to double check

Or those nightmares just might come for you and make your days a wreck.
