Blank Stare

E.J.Foreman

All alone in a crowded space

With people who move

with no smile on their face

Their heads bowed down

As they move around

The wire from their ears

 To hear the sound

From that little device

That has become

The love of their life.

  • Comment from author about the poem: No one talks any more without having their phone at hand or plugged into their ears. No one writes any more with pen to paper to a loved one I just like to talk or write about any thing at all. As I walk around town I feel all alone
