Titmouse Figurine

Titmouse Figurine

He looked like a figurine

From a gift-card store

His tuft clearly seen

With big round eyes for sure

I wanted to possess him

And put him on a shelf

Where I could take him down

Whenever I really felt

I wish my menagerie

Had a titmouse there

Right next to my cardinal

And goldfinch to compare

Maybe some kind soul

Will buy me one some day

And I won’t then feel guilty

For what I had to pay

Until that gifting day

I will continue to cherish

The titmouse in the wild

As one of the fairest
