The devil's smile

Georgiarous101

Smile a hundred  smiles
Speak a thousand words
Dance among the flowers
Whistle along with the birds

Break a thousand hearts
And Destroy as many souls
Take away their innocence
And sell it to the ghouls

Make them feel so tiny
And with that you shall grow
Wear a thousand faces
To make sure you hide your own

Then shower them with love
Be regretful and full of sorrow
Convince them that the new you
Will be re-born and ready tomorrow

Bring back their smiles,
Their dances their whistles
Kiss it all better when they get sliced on the thistles

Convince them life is good
And build them up for a while,
But good Lord don't you ever forget
Even the devil can wear a smile.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I would love to know your faults on this and what people interpret from This? I'm in a bad place at the moment and the word just flew out of me but not sure what it means. Thanks xx

This is so, probably as one of his disguises. Easy to fall for it sometimes.

I get the impression that the 'devil' expressed in this is anyone or anything that can seem to give us a sense of happiness or bliss, but one that only is a response to our pain, perhaps pain that they themselves have caused. This bliss is a temporary one and is only meant to manipulate the victim into clinging more tightly to them, only to have their temporary bliss broken down once again by their actions until the process is repeated and we become more irrationally attached to the healing of the pain they repeatedly cause, instead of our own continued well being. Their thousand faces they wear portray the character they want us to believe of them, only to hide their true intentions, their own face. Just my little interpretation 🙂
