Water

Mottakeenur Rehman

I am as simple as water,
Not like you think.
I have no patience
To delve into the world of complexity, like you.
Therefore, I am water.

If I fall in love with winter,
I turn to snow.
With a motive, I become the free-flowing river,
Or by the sea, I synthesize myself
As a fearless darling.
Therefore, I am water.

My face is always on the front side of mine.
Whoever wants can engulf me
Without any hesitation.
With less pride, my home is settled under everything,
Beneath the ground of soil.
