You see, I learn to memorise
For when you're not here
I learn to summarise
For when I'm left in fear.
And knowing you'll be gone
So another teardrop rain
My whimpers holding on
Are causing too much pain.
This shadow takes my love
Hiding somewhere new
Flying on a white-winged dove
Where love is less than few.
Its 5 am, sat here cold and lonely
Where a cobwebbed heart has died
Sewing silk sat out on the balcony
Can't you see beauty has never lied?
When all the things we said and done
After everything, we both went through
It left us both with none
And there's nothing I can do.
So we took all our charm and glee
When singing all our silly songs
Such imperfect harmony
Didn't mean we did no wrongs.
I know one day I'll fall in love again
With life itself and the wonders it holds
But with or without her I will remain the same
For love is life, not a pot of gold.
