Homeward Climb

Marie Braden

When a rose blooms on demand,

Why! When it's touched by angel hands,

Starts to vine and climb,

Up around love divine,

It's fragrance, God knows,

Into the throne room it flows,

The rose of Sharon,

Carries such love,

To lost souls here below,

Saves and starts,

Love to over flow,

Homeward bound tis a soul I know,

And Jesus waits for the love to glow,

Filling up the masters hand,

Just to be handed to the I Am,

So let those roses vine,

Don't hinder their upward climb,

Could be your soul,

Could be mine,

So be ready for that angel's touch,

From love divine,

Be prepared for your homeward climb,

Covered by the blood,

Filled with Jesus love,

Then, vine, vine, vine,

Go way beyond that homeward climb,

To perfect love divine,

To perfect love.

  • Comment from author about the poem: On the 8th of this month, I lost my sweet brother he went home to Jesus. It hurts so bad to know hes no longer with us but this isn't his home anyway because he was only passing through. Though it has affected and hurt my heart I keep my faith in the Lord to know that he is safe with him.
