Your voice; a whisper in my ear
The body fogs, but mind is clear
My heart; it skips a beat or two
Whenever I am close to you
My dreams; they play out like a tune
Your beauty sharp and within view
In sleep; I never wish to wake
Content with all the risks we take
My blood; it surges through my veins
Thoughts of when we’ll meet again
The heart; it wants without restraint
Love that’s free and somewhat insane

Monah, the title caught my attention and reminded me of an old song: 'La maladie d'amour' sung by Michel Sardou, way way back, before you were born. Check it out here:

And after the great title, the poem did not disappoint! It is a beautiful declaration of love and I especially like the last line! True love is always a bit insane!
Thank you so much Fred! I always appreciate your comments!!
