Don't Speak

Baylee

The brightest of reds

against the whitest of snows

Now

Did you picture

a brilliant robin?

or crimson blood

staining all purity

seeping through its colorlessness

with persisting tenacity?

This golden sun

cannot melt the layers of ice

which capture my unstirring heart

Please

silence my demons

help me to see this dreadful world

through your eyes

Help me to see

a genuine smile

instead of a broken mirror

Take away

this muzzle from my face

even if it has grown to be

a part of me

But then again

they can’t twist my words

if I don’t speak.
