What’s that smell…?
It’s shit, it’s the faeces from the past making the hurt and shame last.
What’s that smell…?
It’s defeat, disappointment littering my continuing road where once confidence glowed.
What’s that smell…?
It’s fragrance, the sweet smell of perfume masking the stench coming from my tomb.
What’s that smell…?
It’s food, the present gift of grace that begs me to start saving face.
What’s that smell…?
It’s victory, the paradox of finding favour in defeat, it is the Divine's best treat.
What’s that smell…?
It’s manure, in truth it’s still shit, but perhaps life can grow from it.
