Heartbreak

stephenfairfax

The lies you told

The days you cheated

The ways you tormented

You were always coincided

I trusted you with everything

You had my heart in hand

But you crumbled it up

Into nothing but sand

Sometimes at night I lay awake

Thinking of what we could’ve been

If it wasn’t for that mistake.

But as past goes away

I can’t help but remember that day

The day I cried

The day I tried

Suicide is piece of mind

Just the kind that runs with time

Here we are friends and kind

I just can’t seem to get her off my mind

I wish I could

I wish I would leave

I wish you’d care

I wish I was there

Before that night,

With you in my care

  • Comment from author about the poem: Writing this poem helped me through a hard time in life, someone that i was with for 3 years ended up being the plot to my poem. This was the only way i knew how to get my feelings completely out. For peace of mind. So, posting this is my way of reaching out to anybody that went through this as well. Maybe you don't know how to convey your feelings and I'm showing you that this is a way to do so.
