Sorry Little Lies

elliepoet

You said, “Dont worry

I’m going to be fine

And so are you
Elle, It’s alright
Just be yourself
And that's enough”
Chase, my heart can’t be filled
With all that stuff
That makes me glad
For a short of time
You say “Just do it
You’re gonna be fine”
But you are wrong
Though you think you’re wise
You are a fool
Cause they’re all lies
People aren’t nice
Because the world is mean
And the world ain’t pretty
As it sometimes may seem
We’re all filled
With rage and depression
Sarcasm and chasm
Slick passive aggression
Anger and tears
Revenge, rage, fight
Bullies in the morning
And criminals at night
Girls are just rude
Their gossip turned quick
Giggling and whispering
It just makes me sick
And Love can be evil
Though love first deceives
Through anger and confusion
Through heartbreak it leaves
Tired agony and discourage
Divorce, selfish pride
Abusion, confusion
Murder and suicide
You may say change is good
Because it’s all you’ve known
But you were wrong
You’re not the king on my throne
So if you’ll ever tell me that
You’ll never win the prize
Because I’m so sick
Of your little sorry lies

  • Comment from author about the poem: Hey guys! This is my first poem, and I extracted it from one of my written chapter books. It’s about a girl named Elle and her friend named Chase. It is her first time opening her eyes to see what the world is really like, and breaking out of the overprotective bubble Chase has built around her.

Life isn't perfect, the trick is finding the beauty in that. Chase and Elle could balance eachother perfectly by the sounds of it. Powerful feelings involved in this poem, well addressed:) Entertaining read!!

Don't worry the pain won't last forever. It is only temporary until we reach the Lord's kingdom.
