- Comment from author about the poem: On December 18, 2017, Kim Jonghyun of the k-pop group SHINee took his life at four in the morning. He was found having burned coal briquettes in a pan, and passed away from carbon monoxide poisoning. He never showed his depression, instead choosing to hint at it through posts on his Instagram and his song lyrics. His departure left us empty inside. He will be missed and loved forever by Shawols all around the world. As a fan, I just want others to be respectful to the person who helped me out of depression yet spiraled into his own at the same time, hurting both of us.
