10^10^123

Gary Edward Geraci

Prayers for protection answered not.
Death steals a child for God.
Called into question are the Angels.
One man one death is fact.
Can random Macaques type Macbeth?
And code for DNA?
Locked into a room with keyboard,
Monkeys pee and monkeys poo.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Inspired by the “Infinite Monkey Theorem” and the writings of Emily Dickinson. Of any singular act, the death of a loved one; the death of an innocent child, especially, among the secular collective, brings about the charge of a godless world. What remains then, within the realm of explanation, is randomness. The most beautiful and intricate: the result of randomness. This is folly as the “Infinite Monkey Theorem” demonstrates. Our Lord, in his life, demonstrated the profound gift in that each and every person is given one life and one death. When and where is known by God alone. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite_monkey_theorem On 3/5/2018, I rewrote the title from “Monkey Pee Monkey Poo” to “10^10^123” and made some major internal edits to my poem.
