Broken Son

sarahyshoop

He tries to go back and figure out what went wrong

He reads through his journal and finds empty songs

He opens his Bible but can’t read the words

His heart is hurting and his mind is unwilling

He speaks of his father but has little to say

He holds in frustration and tries to pray

A light appears

It must be the sun?

He hears a voice sound from above

The voice says

You are my son and you are my all

You will not grow weary or be doomed to fall

You are forgiven and I will help  you be strong

He falls to his knees and begs to be free

He can’t let go of his mind so unwillingly

The voice answers back and says you now are free

Through me the thoughts will be silent and now you must follow me

His mind went quiet and his worries faded away

He laid down to rest and dreamed of this day

As he awakened he sang songs of praise

For his life had been changed

He had been made free by the one who loved him so willingly
