Butterfly

Yesterday brought a day

I thought would never come.

The sky was a more vibrant blue.

The birds tweeted the most beautiful melody,

 

And I broke from the cocoon of him.

My wings spurted,

 

They are a canvas 

Painted with colours 

Of the heartbreak

And heartache

He caused for so long.

 

I let the past

Tumble away in the gusts of wind.

Unfurl my wings 

And let the breeze take me 

To the thrilling adventures

Life has planned 

For a fearless butterfly,

Like me.
