Christmas Wants

w c

Christmas Wants

I sometimes like to reach

For the things I want

I forget the things I need

And greedy comes along

When I reach out for my wants

I really am a sight

So much wasted effort

When my needs would best provide

When will I grow up

When will I mature

When will I be an adult

When will my greed be cured

The Christmas gift for me

Surprises me a bit

It satisfies a want

And that’s the joy in it
