Life is like an onion

avigail

Life is like an onion

You peel and you cry.

You peel and your cry.

Sometimes out of joy,

Others you feel as if you are going to die.

By the end…

Onion is gone.

Yet, the good news:

You can choose a new onion.

    Lol, Nice Poem.

I like the onion metaphor, Avigail.
At least with the onion you know what you will get below the layer you are peeling: more onion!
Peeling back the layers of life is more like a box of chocolates: You never know what you will get!

once I saw a dead dog lying on the roadside... every day I saw how it was decaying and vanishing...Only after it was removed by road controllers, I said to myself that I needed to take a picture day after day and then run all the pictures in reversed...

your chocolate is a much better story:)))

Your 'pictures in reversed' reminded me of a saying by Kierkegaard: Life can only be understood backwards. Unfortunately, it must be lived forward.'
Might use that saying as a poem idea.
