“Hardships”

AlinaVanderson

“Hardships”

My hand you hold

Reciting stories i've told

As i lie here ready on my deathbed

My friends I pray

That soon maybe one day

You’ll tell other people what i’ve said

That people care not of your beauty or grace

People don't stop to look at your face

People care only because they want people to care

And the world is a hopeless wasteland out there

No roses or perfume can mask such a task

But kindness and patience is all i must ask

Hardships may come and that's all to be said

Now leave me here to die on my deathbed.
