Dead Roses

Syd

I wish to send dead roses to my ex.....

For she used to make me feel happiness, now all she makes me feel is regret

I hope the decaying flowers remind her of how our love quickly soured

How her ice maidens touch poisoned our love.... Just like those decaying flowers

We parted ways to much happier days and I'm so happy she is gone...

So I ask the florist specifically, "send dead roses and leave the thorns on"

Ahh the thorns too. So it wasn't just all sweet-smelling roses?

      • Syd

Yes the thorns too Orchidee, it is just a fictional poem though.

        Thanksfor reading - Syd

Well written, Syd! But if you are happy now, maybe she did you a favor. 🙂
Kind of reminds me of people sending somebody a dead fish.

        • Syd

Lol! A dead fish. Yes I get where you're coming from. Yes I'm very happy now. Have been for many years. The poem is fiction anyway, I was just trying something different.

          Thanks for reading - Syd

Ah - this read gave me a slow smile Syd - some partners need a reminder to un-ice and the finalé gives the sting in its tail - - "leave the thorns on" is a gem of an ending.

Thank you Fay. I'm glad you enjoyed the poem and on my part it is nice to write about something different for a change - Syd

Thanks ever so much Santita. Yes I remember that you too contributed to the fusioned poem. I had to put a bit of darkness in my contribution, that's just me being me.

            Take care - Syd
