I FORGIVE YOU

Riley Shai Manning

I don’t understand why you felt you needed to take from me, but you did. You stole from me didn’t you?
No, no, I’m not talking about money, I’m talking about something less valuable to you but priceless for me.
You see you stole my self worth, you stole my pride and of most value you stole my innocence. Then you proceeded to take away my loved ones.. one by one they left my side because of how you portrayed me. I’m not who you made me out to be, and I never “wanted it” it didn’t “just happen” and it wasn’t “just the one time”.
It’s not consent if I’m afraid to say no, anything less than a yes is a no!
I’ve spend many nights wanting to die, guess what.. I even dragged a blade across my skin to punish myself for what you did to me. But you don’t know me now, because I’ve put myself back together differently this time, I remember who I was before you made me feel worthless. You’re probably confused about the title of this page, yeah that’s for me “I forgive you” are the words I tell myself everyday. Because I didn’t do this! You did!
