Grow Up

here

we were nearly friends

but teenage awkwardness and hormones had other ideas.

we never knew each other..

we liked to fantasise about what it would be like!

children playing at love.

we acted our part

here we are, now.

not what we expected..

our differences did not broaden our perspectives,

our differences divide us.

and we doubt ourselves!

but we refuse to doubt in each other.

because we know we are people deserving of love.

how can we love so much but not be each others match!?

we kidded ourselves.

the game must end

before we lose faith in ourselves.

we need to escape this fantasy nightmare

that started out with good intentions!

before we do not believe that love is enough.
