Safe Haven.

Wallace

Here i lie in a bed of dirt.

Mind cold unsafe and hurt.

The starry sky looks so near.

Heaven i can see real clear.

Soon i pray I'll enter through those pearly gates.

Where all do love and no one hates.

Weather cold i can not sleep.

My unsafe mind makes my sad eyes weep.

All alone and sleeping rough.

Eyes tear and lungs cough.

Been deserted by the one i love.

Soon i pray I'll be in that safe haven up above.

          Welcome

        • Caring dove

heaven does indeed sound like it may be a nicer place then earth but who truly knows... this earth and this world is too much pain , too many unkind people , too much depression , too many unhappy people.... when we are in a bad place we just want to be in a happy place right, i can understand this .. i like your reference to the pearly gates ... lovely wording there
