"Summer Sadness"

Merissa

Depression takes hold when the leaves turn green.
Time is a thief that turns teachings to tales.
Where all is anew yet life is fading the screen;
And freedom although rare becomes the cage’s nails

Feeling all the beauty and love abound;
For some will decide to wrap around.
But those who feel they have nothing
Don’t usually see it quite as touching.

The days may be warm and bright
But hearts are filled with torment.
Life will look as dark as night
That not a soul will be able to prevent.

Happiness is lost in a sea of doom.
When most are joyful, one is full of gloom.
The hours drag on with not a thing to do;
And the world seems red, while one sees blue.

Not sure of what to say
When all is bright and clear;
For no one sees the side
Of what one calls a tear.

    No just get extremely bored during the summer so it makes me depressed. I literally never have anything to do. Oh and thanks

    you know , sometimes when we are not feeling so good , bored, depressed , in a bad mood etc we somehow sometimes hate the bright and sunny days , i guess it almost makes us ponder on our low mood and our unhappiness, kind of like oh look its sunny outside the sky is happy people are laughing but look at me i am feeling unhappy why can't i feel happy like the sun lol conflicting of feelings conflicting of colours which makes us sad ... great piece of writing!

      I like your analysis but I think it's not really about the summer in my poem. I hate summer because I get no fun out of it. At least school gives me something to do. I was basically saying that while everyone else enjoys summer because it's beautiful, they have time off, and can do a bunch of stuff, I'm just home bored out of my mind, not doing anything and it makes me sad.
