Let Him

SheWasTheSun

Let his strong hands cradle your heart

On its heaviest of days

Let him admire you like fine art

When you feel utterly out of place

Let his honey-coated voice

Warm you from the inside out

Let the deafening, senseless noise

Give way to that sweet, time-slowing sound

But promise me this, miracle girl

Don't you ever let yourself need him

For there's so much needed from you in this world

So many gardens for you to plant your seeds in

His hands are strong, but yours are magic

They heal hearts with every touch

And the fact that you can't see it is tragic

But your art is beyond worthy of his clutch

His words are an endless ocean of calm

But yours incite tempests of change

Storms swirling with chaos and song

And everything beautifully strange

So let him trail along on your journey

And love him if you must

But should he struggle to keep pace with your hurry

Don't be afraid to leave him in your dust
