Winter Wonderland

Edward Charles McDevitt

There's snow everywhere and it's freezing cold outside,
I need someone to keep me warm and be right at my side.
Someone to snuggle with and warm me through the night,
So cuddle up behind me close as I reach for the light.
Standing tall and helping me through all of life's woes,
Walking right beside me where ever the road goes.
I want someone to commit and love me as thyself,
Don't treat me like an old book and keep me on a shelf.
If they're not ready, that's all they have to say,
I'll take a bow and turn around and sadly walk away.
If I must wait on someone, that I can easily do,
Especially if that someone special turns out to be you...
