JULY 5th

Resa71

Not long did I know you, nor did you I.
Your eyes still haunt me,
Some memories are forever, Some images never die.

So sudden it was, your choice to depart.
Leaving a permanent scar on my tortured heart.

Filled with despair, then some anger.
If I had only known, you were in such danger.

Maybe I could have saved you.
At least for a time.
This burden of guilt, will always be mine.
