Birds

Lorna

I remember when I visited

You were gone all winter

In Florida - for work

And Florida not being my cup of tea

Surprised me

It was a long time ago

You are now old

Not well

Sad longings

I remember the birds

Such a song they sang

Like a posy of flowers

In the air

You were running around

Busy

But you were there

What will I do

When the birds sing like that

Without you being somewhere?

With the passing of time, memories keep us company, and can be triggered with pleasant event like the birds singing.
Thou far, yet near - very well written
