Love Grown Cold

Love Grown Cold

We once had a life together

Good in any type of weather

Until one day we realized

There were only darkened skies

We were each other’s best of friends

Until life’s cold and numbing winds

Leaving us distant to each other

With no romance for one another

The commitment that we had made

In the storms was somehow saved

And we fell in love again

Despite the cold and cutting winds

The cold of those winter days

In our minds is still replayed

And we feel lucky that we found

Love the second time around
