The Moon Wanders

Noveyre

And the moon wanders up from the woods unknown

glimmering high with opaline veneer;

foreign from the daylight and shining with a will

what a pearly face that watches over me now.

It has a midnight cloak and a crown of stars,

walking across the sky so dark

and brave as it meets face to face

with loneliness and lost hearts

It has a lantern, guiding with clouds of hands

directions and consolations, of hopefulness and virtue

the moon comes up to care for you,

the wanderer is watching.

    Purely magical and immersive. I really enjoy this. Can I ask if this has a specific inspiration behind it?
