I Once Knew You

Tristan Robert Lange

I once knew you,
I knew you, loved you
And thought change
Would never come.

I once knew you,
But now you’re gone.
Your ghost haunts
Hallways in my mind.

I once knew you,
Looked up to you
And aspired to be
All you’d want of me.

I once knew you,
And I see you in me.
Your specter shades
My tormented soul.
