Happy

KR

I hope you’re happy
You stabbed my stomach
And ate me from the inside
My heart still beats
But now it is inside of you.

I hope you’re happy.
Spiders have settled in my mouth;
It is a cave, wide, cavernous
Always speaking but never heard
Swallowing the sound of your voice.

Are you still happy?
My eyes are gone now;
I am blinded to beauty
The fragrant pinecone is now harsh
The rabbit’s pelt now matted.

You are not happy.
You stabbed me in the stomach
And you swallowed my heart
But my self-sacrifice was not enough;
It is never enough
It is never enough
It will never be enough
I am never enough
And life is never enough
When will it be enough?

You will never be happy.
You swallow fire to try
And burn my heart.
