Heart’s beating out my chest and
There’s no time to rest when
An animal takes over as my palms close over
Hopes bursting free from my soul
Lightning snaps over my wilted eyes then
A candle sparks into a wildfire claiming the skies as
The stars escape upon the night and
I know I must never let them leave my sight
Reality melts away at the touch of a dream as
It ripples and ruptures at its seams to
Morph into a feeling of frenzy and fierce flame that
Burns away all but the goal to claim
Shattered the web of darkness to break away into
A world of color and paint to create a new day and
Endless possibilities there for me to chase as
I leave destiny behind for the future is mine to embrace
