“ Twisted Heart”

Resa71

The clock will mark midnights hour.
I lay here sleepless once again.
mind spinning, stomach
sour.
You are in the other room,
As you always are.
Strange, just a few feet,
Can be such a distance
I’ve tried to reach you,
Show you what love means worn down from your resistance.
My energy depleted, we are over now.
At least, that’s how it seems.
I’ll never understand.the inner workings of your twisted heart.
The only time you desire
me, is once I’ve chosen to depart.
Then, once again you reel me back, like a fish hooked on a line.
I find salvation within your arms,
Until your love. And heart retreat,
I’ll revel in this precious time.

'' mind spinning , stomach sour'' nice wording here 🙂 you really convey well how much you try to love this person and the resistance they so readily emit . sometimes we can try and love someone , show them but trying to love someone when all they do is resist, i can understand would be quite painful , but sometimes two people are not meant to be together, i liked reading this poem

Thank you for reading my poem.
I know some people aren’t meant to be together, I even left once. But the tie that binds me is our seven year old son.
That is why , I keep tying to find happiness in and turn a loveless marriage into more.
