Of Course

Allan J. Renaldo

In movies,
Books,
And others,
This would be called fate.
But,
In this life,
My life,
It's just awful.
Awful for me,
Awful for you.
But of course it happened.
Why wouldn't it?
Ugh!
I am so weak,
So very weak!
I won't come crawling back.
I guess I'm stronger that way.
But you were there,
As was I.
And OF COURSE this happened.
But why?

For God's sake, tell us what happened?
Just kidding, your poem leaves it wide open. Whatever happened, happened, and since I don't know what that is, I don't know why either!

They fell in love. I fell in love. I fell out of love. They fell out of love. I see them months later, and I realize that I always loved them. But we can no longer be friends, and it kills me. But that is basically what this poem is about.

Thanks Allan, this explains a lot, but it does not explain the 'why'! What about the 'but we can still be friends' kind of thing? No answer required! Love your poem!
