“ Children of the night”

Resa71

In my room on this quiet night.
Shadows dancing along the walls
Choreographed by a single candle
Cast by a small flickering light .

Laying here alone, in this
oversized bed,
So lonely without you.
Every sunset, fills my heart with dread.
I recall our nights together ,
Like it was yesterday.
We owned the darkness,
The stillness of the night,
Was our time to play.
But, when the sun came up,
Reality, it brought to light.
We couldn’t last forever.
We were but, children of the night.
