Stars

olivergreenwood19

I used to look at the stars when I was lost

Their mysteries intrigued me

Their light entranced me

They took away the pain and reminded me of something bigger and more beautiful than myself The way they danced in the sky

The way they broke through the darkness

Reached out from the cold depths of space and touched my soul

But I no longer look to the stars for comfort

Nor do I rely on the sun for warmth

I look to you when I am lost

Because your eyes possess the same sparkle as those stars

Your smile breaks through the darkness

Your beauty dances across my heart

Your laugh lifts my soul

Your embrace contains the warmth of summer

You are my sun and stars

So it doesn't matter if there is a sky full of stars

Because the stars never stood a chance against you
