Walking with my music up loud

Paxton Tate

When I walk with my music up loud,

it's like there is no one around.

I just stare at the ground, looking no one in the eyes,

it's early in the morning so here comes the sunrise.

I feel like I'm on the set of a movie,

as if no one can see through me.

The bass of the music thuds in my ears,

Oh, wait, did someone call my name?

That's pretty lame.

Im just going to pretend like I didn't hear.

Someone taps me on the shoulder,

I look up with a shocked expression on my face,

"Do I know you?"

The person says, "No, I am a little older."

Then my expression grows colder.

Its a guy, I realize,

in disguise.

I shut my eyes and turn my music up as loud as it goes,

maybe this is just another bad dream.

I feel him grab me by my wrist,

I try to twist away from him but he's too strong,

I guess this is what I get for always being alone.

I hear a car door slam, or at least that's what it sounds like,

I hope it's someone here to save my life.

As I open my eyes I look around,

I sit up surprised because I've been in my room the whole time.
