Being Superman

DHA

I’m not a hero by any means
I make countless mistakes
I fail constantly
I’m not that strong
But it’s impossible not to feel like one
When she looks at me
And sees Superman:
A person who stubbornly refuses to leave her alone,
A shoulder to cry on, to talk and yell into,
A protector and a shield,
Someone she can trust,
And so much that can’t be put into words,
That defies description,
But exists all the same.
She tells me that I’m her Superman
And isn’t it funny
That she’s the one saving me?
