She Wept And I Cried.

kevin browne

She wept and I cried as our broken path cracked up
Beneath the waves left unfolding there, our ocean died
Wet with tears drying out the years we spent together
Down by our home set up in a heart-shaped love tree
As we watched butterflies blossom and spread their wings
Life had flourished beyond loves expectations supremely
That day we kissed one last time and I was left to dance alone
Shredded, shrunk, sank, strayed and selling all my emotions
We found the separation ripped around our worlds we lived in
Our Sun had shone, our moonlight bright but Venus faded
With its shadow beaming down on our demise from ecstasy
Inflammation of our brains we tightened our buckles around
Memories we created and remembered how to let them live
A key is important to open and unleash the diamond inside
Regretting the minutes ahead pass unnoticed as our love decayed
To calm, to learn, to live, to give, to show and pick up the pieces
Of a scattered and showered creation between two partners
It's secrecy enveloped the desires to fight to win us back again
Unforgiving dimensions validate something much more sublime
Catching the winds again our butterflies had returned to reside
On our pillows, they whispered as we slept, " wake up and rejoice"
That we owe nothing in our hearts for each other until this day
Because there the conditions seize to exist anywhere anymore
Boundaries we broke rebounded the sense back into a love of life
And carefully so we with such ideas of being happy with happily ever after
Our oceans opened just like the love from our hearts did.
P.S. Allowing one's own energy to resuscitate any instrument of life or art form has been purely a magical thing since from the start of time.

Brings to mind the song: 'Breaking up is hard to do'! But no matter what, life keeps on going. Love your poem, Kevin!
