A Song In My Heart

 

There’s a song in my heart

And I can’t help but sing

I know my friends the birds

Know just what I mean

 

I want to sing out

And have my song be heard

With a beautiful melody

Accompanying my words

 

I pray my music pleases you

And warms your heart a bit

That’s really the only reason

For my singing it

 

Know the words of the song

Were chosen carefully

And not something random

Selected carelessly

 

I’ll know by your smiles

That the song is good

And the words that I said

You clearly understood

 

When the song is over

I’ll rest my little voice

And know that sometime later

We will again rejoice
