The bright side

Jo Middleton

I imagine walking down a path of cobblestone
Asking questions but this time I am not alone
Jump on to this flowerbed
Butterflies swirling over my head
Is that how it feels to be alright?
God I hope it lasts through the night

I never felt this feeling before
It's not love but it's not a law
See how soft your hands seem to be
You said you might come back not leave

Oh darling how it feels to me
Safe and secure in my body
Brilliant sunshine on your face
Smooth pale skin dipped in lace

Happily walking along this path
Our own pace, our own laugh
No longer wonder will I have to chase
Walking walking, to our own pace.
