Special Table
In a bit of creativity
We built a special table
It celebrated someone special to me
when I was young and able
Through the years we polished it
And it stood strong many days
For birthday parties and anniversaries
And Saturday mornings great
There were family talks held there
As we discussed our lives
From his being out too late
To the tears when daddy died
We used it daily many years
Though I don’t know where it went
If it shows up at an antique store
It would be money well spent
Though it’s priceless to us gents
Should the table ever be found
I would pass it on to my son
And trust that he would polish it
While he is able and young
