Angel in Disguise

ronyswizzle

When I saw her walking down the aisle

I knew she was an angel in disguise

She held onto her father’s arm tightly

While walking down the aisle gracefully

Her father gave me her arm and said

Take care of my little redhead

She looked into my eyes and smiled

Suddenly my whole world beguiled

We said our vows and exchanged our rings

That little small thing that will tie our fate strings

And when it is time to say I do

I told her I’m lucky to have you

I guess fate has its own way

Because she is the reason for me to stay

Maybe I haven’t won the game of life

But I’ve sure as hell won an amazing wife

For having what I'd say is a really strong beginning and overall content, the last two lines feel more cheesy than the rest. That being said though, this is my favorite I've read in a little while, and it is extremely tender and it does use great language. I really enjoyed your poem. You're talented.
