combat

here

I have seen it so many times.

A Disease from out of no where!

Which no one deserves!

A Cancer.

We gather round to support our loved one,

but to no avail.

Medicated - but no hope long term.

Yet, we Hope and Love!

Now.. I liken it to Love-

we never expected this to happen.

We did not expect a Cancer!

Something we did not want,

and something we repel.

But, it grows and grows!

Finally dividing us..

It is a Death.

We part from the world we shared!

Something, neither of us wanted.

By God! We tried to save Us!

We had many, 'Is this it? No, do not leave me! I Love you!' moments-

But finally, We were exhausted.

Finally out of our hands...

I will Miss and Love you Forever.

Even though you are somewhere in this World-

We cannot exist here Together

  • dusk arising

Heartfelt. Our biggest fear the dreaded 'C' which has taken friends and family members.
I admire your courage writing about this killer.

Thank you for recognizing my poem. unfortunately, I have lost many loved ones to Cancer-that is why I felt compelled to draw parallels
