ultimatelooser

When freedom of speech becomes the leech that went too far
Sucking out the life but then penetrating the scar
Until it’s wriggled it’s ugly self all the way in
And polluted all it can find beneath the skin
Till it’s ready to eat everything from this complete intrusion
Consuming it all and excreting confusion

Then a delicate flower just can’t survive
Against this hostile wind that drives these leeches deep inside
And the petals wilt to a fashionable, jaded, dried-herb
That emits sweetness to palates that don’t deserve
To noses that would happily cut and crush
And snort everything of it that it can

...until there’s suddenly nothing left.

Then we’ll all rue the day we all got our way
And perhaps next time think, before we say.
