Seduced By Wood Grain

Accidental Poet

Like a child in a toy store

I’m seduced by wood grain

Be it of Pine, Oak or Zebrawood

Darkened with mahogany stain

Natural wood with character

Oh, the stories that could be told

From floorboards and furniture

In a house of centuries old

Crafty hands that carve and shape

Wood sanded smooth to the touch

Loving fingers caressing finished wood

Of chairs, table and hutch

So sad to see

A tree cut down

But from wood to masterpiece

That sadness turns around

Made from wood

All beautiful works of art

From talented hands

And passionate heart
