The Big Game

The Big Game

I’m looking forward to the big game

And have been so for weeks

My team won't be playing this year

But the game’s still important to me

I’ll try to pick a favorite

Of teams I barely know

I’ll do so whole-heartedly

And favoritism I’ll try to show

I'll pay close attention to the halftime show

With its music and pageantry

And all the commercials too

With their products so expensively

By the time the game is over

We'll all be loud and joking

Satisfied at a good game played

And thankful for the showing

At work we’ll banter about next year

With the hope of the draft and trades

It will bring to some a ray of  hope

That we’ll be champions again one day
