The Broken Past

TrystanBehm

Blades of grass are the first indicator

Some bent, others broken – many crushed

Their depressions, the mouths to many trails

Trails marked with incandescent memories

Notches in the bark, links to past victories

Victories from battles that should never have been fought

Cauterizing paths in a way, only this warrior would recognize

Blades that should stand tall

Bark like a fingerprint, unmolested

- Memories not aglow

  But Virgin
